I was born and raised in Maryland,( USA). Graduated from Towson high school in 1980(...uhhhhh... so long ago....) Went into Graphics/Advertising/ Printing for 18 years, although my passion was always painting with watercolors. So in the spring of 2000, I started my new career as a self taught painter. That's when I made the life changing decision to quit my sales position at the printing company and paint full time. ... I have never looked back.
When the process began my dream was to paint "Fairies". I had no idea what wonderful experiences would lie ahead.
One of the exciting experiences, was when I was selected to be in "The Art of Faery" presented by David Riché with the forward by Brian Froud. To be included in this project with so many spectacular Fantasy Artists ( to name a few; David Delamare, Linda Ravenscroft and Amy Brown ) was a dream come true Then to my surprise came along "The World of Faery" also presented by David Riche' with an illustrated foreward by Alan Lee. How COOL is that! i am still pinching myself....
Since then my fairy and mermaid works have appeared on the cover of "Pathways" magazine and "Aquarius". Each day is more exciting than the one before and it's all because of you- my friends and customers.
On April 5, 2005 My local Baltimore Television Station invited me to visit the station for a 7 minute interview. The interview was with Don Scott and Marty Bass of WJZ - TV It was so fun to open the Morning Show with Fairies! What an exciting and surreal moment for us. Thank you guys I had a ball. (Marty Bass has even named one of my pieces " ForEver" )
I am Native American ( Cherokee), very spritual, sensitive and oh yeah...Bi-Polar. But I wouldn't have it any other way...When times are extreme, my creations are at their best. So for that I am grateful. My journey is constantly changing..I dont ever want that to stop. When I wake each morning, I take a quiet walk thru the Fairie Forest to prepare for what ever challenge the day may bring.... at that point I am ready...
